Chamber member Central Health, the healthcare specialist, has made a full commitment to the renowned Derby 10K event, securing the naming rights to create the 2016 Central Health Derby 10K

Central Health is a keen supporter of the local running scene in and around Derby, having sponsored similar events in the past including last year’s Ramathon and Wilne 10K.

Sponsoring the Derby 10K is a natural fit for Central Health, who keep many local runners on track with their fitness from its physiotherapy, osteopathy and podiatry clinics across Derbyshire and the East Midlands.

It is also sponsoring the Business Team Run, part of the Derby 10K, and showcasing the Occupational Health services it delivers to businesses of all sizes across Derbyshire.

The Spondon-based healthcare provider has worked closely with race organisers Sporting Futures throughout the build up to this year’s Derby 10K to ensure Sunday’s race is the biggest ever, and over the last few months has hosted a race ready injury assessment and training advice event and made discounts available to race entrants, ensuring everyone’s in the best physical shape when they line up on the start line.

Central Health’s Clinical Director, Kevin Huffington, (pictured) said:

“With our head office and several clinics in Derby, it’s fantastic to be associated with the biggest race that takes place in the city every year.

“Whilst providing healthcare services such as physiotherapy and podiatry, and looking after many runners from Derby, this sponsorship is perfect for Central Health and it’s been a pleasure to work with Sporting Futures in the build up to the race. It’s also been great to have helped so many of those taking part in the race to overcome their injuries, and we’re looking forward to seeing lots of personal bests on Sunday!’’

The team from Central Health will be out in force at the iPro on Sunday and will be on hand to help runners with any last minute issues before the race starts, and to provide free sports massage and any required injury assessment immediately after the runners complete the course.

Runners can also look forward to special discounts at Central Health throughout the rest of 2016, with a special discount card that can be found in this year’s race packs.
