Staff at Derbyshire businesses are being encouraged to join the Derbyshire Workplace Challenge, an online activity log challenge, supported by Central Health, which helps to keep motivation going by allowing colleagues to track how much sport and activity they are doing and earn activity points.
Participants can take part individually or as part of workplace teams, and can sign up and log activity at www.workplacechallenge.org.uk/derbyshire to progress up the online leaderboard.
Whatever sport or physical activity you take part in – from walking or gardening to running, swimming and cycling – it can all be logged to earn activity points both as an individual and as part of a workplace team.
Activity done at anytime counts – before work, during the working day including lunchtime, after work or at weekends. The aim is just to do more and encourage your colleagues to do the same.
The latest eight-week challenge is currently underway and runs until Sunday 28th February, with a number of spot prizes on offer just for taking part as well as prizes for the winning individual and team. There is still time to join in, and any activity done since the start of the Challenge on Monday 4th January can be logged retrospectively.
Prizes include four free places in the 2016 Derby10k Business Team Challenge, vouchers for treatments at Central Physio, Central FootClinic and Central Osteopaths, and an iPod Shuffle.
Further challenges will also be run throughout the year, with participants able to log their activity all year round. For more information and to sign up go to www.workplacechallenge.org.uk/derbyshire
